How to swap a stitch for a standing chain in a crochet chart

Swap replaces one stitch with a different one, right where it stands.

Steps

  1. Select the stitch you want to change, for example one double crochet of a distributed ring.

  2. On the small toolbar above it, press Swap.

  3. In the Swap stitch box, type the stitch you want, for example chain 3.

  4. Click Chain 3 in the results. The selected stitch is swapped in place.

Good to know

Swap all

When the stitch belongs to a distributed round, the Swap stitch box has a Swap all switch. It is off by default, so only the stitch you chose changes. Switch it on to change every copy at once, which fixes a wrong stitch that was distributed.

A standing chain that stays with its round

A chain swapped into a ring moves and turns with the round, like the stitches around it.
